Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Come Out and Play?
- How do I get a new account?
- First, read the information on the New Accounts page. Then, when you are ready, log into the bbs as NEW. You will be asked a number of questions. Please answer them honestly. Nobody but Sysops have access to it.
- Why do you need real information on my account?
- It helps in sorting out who sent in money for what account. It also tells us you are ready to be a part of our community. If you have a problem answering a few questions with your real information, knowing there are only 5 people who can even see it, you may wish to go elsewhere. It is just one of the few rules we have.
- You talk about rules... what are the rules?
- We have very few. The first one is to respect our members. We do discourage profanity in open channels. We do not tolerate name calling, or dropping in and asking about cracks for this program or that program. Lastly, we do not tolerate people who travel about promoting other boards. We don't do that on your board, don't do it on ours.
- What do I get in return?
- You get a stable environment where you can relax and have fun. If you have never played MajorMud before, you will find people who will help you (though it is easier if you read up on it a bit at Mudville first!) We have many people who have been members here for 2 or 3 years, or more. We tease, chat, tell bad jokes - all the things you would do in any regular hangout you might frequent. The nice thing is, we don't have to travel to do it!
- I keep hearing about a discussion group. Yet, none of the groups on the board seem active. Where is it?
- Hub has decided to take this off the board and have it hosted on Yahoo. You can sign up easily by clicking the Yahoo Group button on the main page once you are a member of Hub. Why off the board? Well, if the board goes down for any reason, we can gather and chat. It is also easier to read than if it was online. It lets us do polls without interferring with our games.
- Yeah, but is it really an open forum? Can I really express myself?
- Absolutely. I expect members to disagree with a sysop, or the owner. Unlike your typical hands-off, absent owner, I am there daily, at least to check in. I respect your opinion, and want you to feel free to express yourself. If you don't want to be public about it, you can always email me - pagan@mmudville.com is the best address to use.
